Tri-fold membership brochure

Brochures aren’t my usual forte, but I felt the Holdrege Area Friends of the Library’s trifold brochure needed a makeover. It looked like it hadn’t received an update in a while, and I knew I could modernize it. Since getting people to read much is hard, I knew breaking up the text and adding more images would improve readability. I coordinated with the Friends to update the text, develop new membership-level names and amounts, and create a new logo and photo collages. Once they were satisfied with the revisions, I had them printed. I distributed them at the Friends’ book donation stations around Holdrege, NE (in the library's main room, at 4th Avenue Coffee, and at Lost Way Brewery).

New Logo

My first goal was to create a new logo for the Friends. They used the same logo as the Holdrege Area Public Library, and I wanted them to have their own identity, ideally something accessible, friendly, modern, and relevant. I mocked up several versions in Canva and presented them to the Friends. They ultimately selected the version to the left, which they now use for branding on additional pieces.

brochure: Outside

Where the older version of the brochure had sections that were just white space, I wanted the new version to use each panel and tell a story.

The front (far right) has the new logo and contact information for the Friends.

The back (middle) has a photo collage related to the Holdrege Area Public Library and includes its contact information.

The inside fold (left) includes information about what the Friends have given to the HAPL and the activities they organize. This panel appears on the right side when you open the brochure.

brochure: Inside

I used the inside panels to continue the story.

The inside left details information about the Friends and their mission and features a new photo collage of some of their offerings at the HAPL.

The inside middle explains more about how the reader can make a difference with the Friends and how they can join.

The inside right features a new membership form, distinct membership types, and revised membership levels. I also included checkboxes in case members want to add an extra donation, participate in employer donation matching, or want to volunteer.
